Access Statement For The Pheasant Inn

Introduction

The Pheasant Inn offers bed and breakfast, camping and caravan facilities, bar , restaurant and function room.
We try to accommodate all requests whenever possible and the following is a statement of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call and we will endeavor to assist

Pre-Arrival

• There is a bus stop outside the building with a regular service
• There are 2 train stations 15 minutes drive by car
• There are local taxi services available for which we will be happy to make bookings
• Brochures and menus can be made available in large print by prior arrangement
• We have a website
• We can be contacted by telephone, text fax or e mail, (details below)

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• We have a large car park with easy access from the road.
• Parking bays are marked.
• The surface is tarmac and is flat.
• We are happy to assist visitors with luggage.
• The Pheasant is situated in the centre of the village

Main Entrance & Reception

• We have 1 entrance from the car park and 1 from the front of the building which faces the main road.
• The car park entrance is a double door 1.5 mt wide and can be accessed by a wheelchair.
• The front entrance is a double door 1.5 mtr wide via a single door portico which is 82 cm wide into the main bar area.
• The car park entrance returns into a wide tiled floor corridor with a wooden ramp which leads into the main bar or the function room

Public Areas - General (Internal)

• The flooring on the main bar area is carpet , the dining and seating sections are wood.
• The function room is carpet
• Large windows and ample lighting in all areas and all walls are painted in light colours.
• The covering on stairs and corridors in the accommodation area is short pile carpet.
• Dog water bowl and food bowl ( and food if requested in advance) are available on request.
• There are 14 stairs to the landing and a further 14 stairs to the accommodation level.
• Access to the stairs is via a door at the rear of the bar which is 82cms wide and has a linoleum floor
• The stairs are 20cm high,26cm deep and X84cm wide

Public Areas - WC

• We have 3 toilets for ladies with 2 washbasins, the floor is linoleum
• There are 4 urinals and 2 toilets for men and the floor surface is tiled
• One disabled access toilet with a tiled floor which has a toilet 43 cms high with a booster seat available for greater height.
• There are rails either side of the toilet, one can be elevated for greater access and the free standing hand basin is 70cms high with a lever style tap.
• The door opens inward and is 76cms wide 

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe

• The bar is 170 high and 75 deep
• Breakfast is served in the dining area on the ground floor.
• Tables are wooden and have an under space of 72cm high and 68cm wide and a height of 74cm
• There are chairs without arms and can be moved to accommodate.
• Menus can be provided in large print upon request.
• Background music is played in the bar and dining room area during opening hours

Laundry

• We can provide washing, drying and ironing facilities upon request.

Outdoor Facilities

• We have a large garden area with wooden benches on a concrete patio.
• Access for wheelchair is via the grass and slight incline from the front of the building.
• There is a child’s  play area in the rear garden.

Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting, Clubs, Entertainment

• The function room can accommodate up to 120 people.
• It is 25 metres long and 10 metres wide.
• Windows of 170cm wide 156cm long allow good natural light.
• The walls are painted in a light colour.
• The carpet is short pile and the dance floor is oak.
• Access is via a tiled corridor of 2 mtr width with a small ramp.
• Tables have an under space of 67cm  by 70cm wide and a height of 73cm (legs on each corner)
• Chairs are with and without arms and can be moved to accommodate
• The bar is 170cm high and 70cm deep

Bedrooms

• There are 3 bedrooms, all on the 3rd floor accessed by a passage way 2 mtr wide with short pile carpet covering all floor surfaces except the shared bathroom which has linoleum tiles.
• Bedroom 1 has a double bed 53cm high.
• The door is 84cm wide and opens inward.
• The space between the bed and the walls is 170cm,110cm and 240cm.
• Television is colour with remote control.
• One armchair is provided.
• A section of the ceiling slopes from 210cm to 110cm at the lowest point.
• Furniture is moveable on request.
• Bedroom 2 has a double bed 60cm high and the door is 84 wide and opens inward.
• The space between the bed and the walls is 140, 140 and 200cms
• The height of the sloping section of the ceiling is 210cm to110cm.
• The colour television has a remote control
• Furniture can be moveable on request
• There is one upright chair
• The 3rd bedroom is a twin and the door is 84cm wide and opens inward.
• The beds have space of 70cm between and are 60cm high.
• The space between the beds and the walls is 70cm and 180cm.
• The colour television has a remote control.
• There is one cane rocking chair
• Furniture is moveable on request .
• The velux window in the sloping section of the ceiling is 154cm long and 90cm and has a retractable blind. The ceiling section which slopes is 210cmto 110cm at it's lowest point

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

• The bathroom is shared and has a bath 56 cm high and 170 wide with a shower connection on the tap system.
• The bath is situated under the lower section of the sloping part of the ceiling which ranges from 195 cm to 110 cm.
• The toilet is 43 cm high and has a left flush.
• The pedestal hand basin is 80 cm.
• The floor has vinyl tiles and the room has 1 velux window and1 wall window and ample lighting.
• The free floor space is 240cm*170cm

Grounds and Gardens

• We have a large grassed area and smaller garden surrounding the concrete patio which has wooden outdoor furniture and parasols.
• There is a playing field surrounded by a gravel footpath very suitable for mild exercise of dogs and people just across the road

Additional Information

• All dogs are welcome.
• Mobile phone reception is adequate in most areas.
• We are able to use both front and back doors in the need of evacuation.
• If you require extra assistance in the event of an evacuation please notify us on arrival.
• We are happy to take delivery of hired equipment ( please let us know if ordered-telephone numbers below for hirers)
• Any items needing refrigeration can be kept in our main fridge on request (not available 24hours)

Future Plans

• We hope to enhance the garden and patio area in  the spring of 2008 and introduce more seating and build more garden to enable guests to enjoy the views of the Malvern Hills in a serene and attractive environment.
